During the MK24 (MRGG-A) program development for US SOCOM, LMT Defense® produced several variations of the MRP-H upper receiver. From the beginning of the program, a requirement was the addition of a forward assist like that commonly found on most 5.56 carbines. The use of the forward assist is commonly needed when returning a carrier group to battery after performing actions like a “press check” in adverse conditions. Other updates were made specific to the contract including additional weight reducing cuts.

The Rev3 follows Rev2 initial updates based on user/program feedback and narrowed the product design window. The MRGG-A program sets its sights on a 14.5″ barrel battle rifle. Rev3 lengthened the rail to match a low profile appearance with the barrel. This not only improves the look but increases the available attachment points for accessories and shooter ergonomics. An additional update is the widening of the overall handguard outer diameter to assist in barrel removal with limited interaction of MLOK mounted components. The final version of the MK24 upper is the Rev3.5 which re-introduces rear oriented integrated QD sling points.

This is a limited run product and no others will be produced. Ships with the matching forward assist carrier body.
